When Julie Hoover released the pattern for her sleeveless Dafne tunic two summers ago (as pictured below), it didn’t make much of an impression on me. I remember thinking I would make it considerably shorter, and then promptly forgot all about it. Yesterday I saw the pic above on Instagram — her new version in Habu’s Linen Tape — and it jumped instantly to the top of my favorites. The neck and armhole shaping is just so beautiful, and I love the simple slip-stitch pattern.
I would still make it considerably shorter, but might have to actually do that.

Glad you could see it with fresh eyes, Karen! There is no shaping to fuss over through the body, so shortening it would be a snap. ;) x
I wandered off to peruse her site, and discovered I’m currently knitting one of her patterns! No wonder I loved this so much.
Love, love. I would make it tunic style as shown because I need elongation (lol). Do you have info on the sweater next to it? I also love the ease of that one! Beautiful styles.
I believe that sweater is Cline…it’s been on my knit list for awhile! ;))
Found the Dafne pattern on Ravelry but it appears to be the “older” version. Where can I find the updated version shown in the picture?
The pattern hasn’t changed, to my knowledge. This was just a new sample she knitted up in a different yarn.
Thanks for sharing this! I love the minimalism of it.
Too much money for the materials. It only has about 50 yards per ball for $8.50. At that price, I¹d rather buy it. You? s
