Months ago, when people were Instagramming from The Makerie (as I recall?), I kept seeing pictures of Fancy Tiger’s Amber Corcoran with her neck draped in a brownish scarf-shawl that I desperately wanted a close-up of. But alas, I was left wanting. Until last week, that is, when the Fancy ladies announced a total of six new patterns on their blog, and HOORAY, one of them was Amber’s shawl. It’s called The Imposter’s Shawl and I like it every bit as much as I expected I would. In fact, it’s all I can do to resist casting on before finishing the one already on my needles. Vying for my attention, though, is the other lovely item pictured above, the Radish Hat by Holly Priestley. Love that combo of cables and super-minimal lace.

  3. I’m binding off my first shawlette for my 97 yr old Mom’n’Law. I started the textured shawl in a handpainted sock yarn, deep red. It makes me so happy to work with it! But now I need the longer circular which is giving me a big incentive to FINISH that project! Thanks for the Holly Priestley link! I just found the perfect hat pattern for my husband’s handspun.

  5. having been at the Makerie retreat with the Fancy ladies, it was indeed a daily fashion show of their amazing knits AND sewn pieces! they are so prolific and all have such great taste, and i think the fact that there is a whole group of them egging each other on must help immensely! and of course working in that incredible store doesn’t hurt either. did you see their MeMadeMay posts??? spectacular! i definitely want to try some of their new knitting patterns too.

    • Cal, I think some of the aforementioned pics were yours. I did see all the MeMades on IG and their blog — amazing. And I met them this weekend at TNNA! Only wish you’d been there, too.
