Design Sponge (the blog, if not Grace Bonney herself) is in a knitting state of mind this month. It was disclosed recently that the already impossibly likable Max Tielman is a knitter. And yesterday they launched two different knitting/crochet-related enterprises. First came the announcement of an Instagram contest (hashtag #dsknits). Second came the first installment in a multi-part series on learning to knit. So great to see a design site as big as Design Sponge focusing on this particular wildly rewarding life skill.

Ohhhh, that Walpole!!! Don’t get me wrong, you know I’m in love with your cowl too (that yarn!), but I’ve been dying to see the Walpole. It. is. gorgeous. I LOVE the colors you pick for everything. Congratulations on both of these! I can’t wait to start both of these here shortly…

It’s called Kathmandu Chunky — a merino/cashmere/silk blend I’d never heard of before seeing it at half off (by the 10-ball bag) at Stitches Midwest. I really love it.

I’ve actually been refraining from wearing it until I get proper photos of it, which should be happening this afternoon.
